CHICKEN CHEESE MOMO

Momos are everyone's favorite. Originated in Nepal, momos are now found almost all over the country. It is a healthy snack for people looking for a light and hearty meal and they prefer on the go. It is originally served with chicken soup. This snack has become very popular and is easy to make. It just takes minutes to cook. So I recently tried this out and it turned out to be delicious. Momos are my all time favorite. I even made this for my home science practical and everyone loved it. So today I am sharing this delicious recipe.

So lets get started..............😋

Ingredients :-

    for the filling :-

  •        raw  minced chicken - 250 grams
  •    processed cheese (grated)
  •    onion (finely chopped)- 1 large
  •    garlic (finely chopped)- 5-6 cloves
  •    oregano (optional)
  •    pepper
  •    salt
  •    fresh coriander (finely chopped)
  •    chilly flakes (optional)

   for the momo :-

  •   regular flour - 200 grams
  •   oil - 2 tspn
  •   water (to form a dough)

  Procedure :-

  1.  Take a bowl. Put the minced chicken in it. Then add all the ingredients   listed in the filling ingredients above. Mix well.
  2.   Take another bowl and add the regular flour, salt, oil and water. Then knead to form a soft dough.
  3.  Meanwhile add 2 cups of water in the Idly maker and let it heat. If you don't have an Idly maker then no need to worry. You can use any cooking pot and place a pot holder and then put the colander.
  4. Cut small pieces of the dough and make small dumplings. Roll them out very thin and put little amounts of filling in them.
  5.   Seal the dumplings in your desired patterns. **
  6.   Then place the dumplings in the colander and put the flame on high.
  7.   Let them steam for 15-20 mins. Check in between.
  8.   Serve hot with green chutney or red hot sauce. Enjoy ! So cheesy !
**  You can be creative with seals. Like here I experimented with the sealing and created my own ways. This was the fun part of the cooking

ðŸ‘‰Use a cooking pot which can cover the entire colander so that the steam gets in well.

👉Seal the dumplings by pressing the forks on the ends. It gives a nice pattern on the dumplings. You can also use the end of a spoon to create patterns.

👉For the glossy look roll the little dough dumplings out using little refined oil.
